What Uber says affects ranking
Separately from the badge, Uber says its rankings take several factors into account and are personalised to each customer. The factors it names are faster overall delivery times and higher ratings. It suggests two ways to improve: lowering your default prep time, and making sure your menu items are high quality and suitable for delivery.
How to close the gap
Rating below 4.8
Read your recent low ratings and fix the most common complaint first. Food that travels badly (fries, anything with sauce on top) is a frequent cause.
Online rate below 81%
Your online rate drops every time you pause the store during opening hours. If you pause because you're busy, try a longer prep time instead.
Missed or inaccurate orders
Missed orders are usually a tablet or staffing problem. Inaccurate orders are usually a packing problem. A packing checklist and a second person checking the bag fix most of them. See our packing checklist and how to dispute refunds.
Prep time
Uber names lower prep times directly. Set your default prep time to what you actually achieve at busy times, then work on bringing it down.
Keeping your rating up
The 4.8 rating threshold is the hardest one to hold. Uber Eats weights recent ratings most, and replying to reviews can win customers back. See how Uber Eats ratings work.
