No orders on Just Eat, Deliveroo or Uber Eats? Why, and what to do

Updated 6 October 2026 · 5 minute read

Your shop was busy, now it is quiet. Before you change prices or pay for ads, find the real reason. Most of the time it is one of the 8 things below, and most of them you can check in 10 minutes.

Short answer: When orders drop on Just Eat, Deliveroo or Uber Eats, check in this order: are you showing at all (offline, paused, outside the delivery area), did your position in the list drop, did your rating drop, are your best dishes switched off, did your prices, fees or offers change, did a new restaurant open near you, are your opening hours right, and has anything changed on your tablet. Fix what you find first, then ask partner support a specific question.

Step 1: Are customers seeing your shop at all?

Open the app as a customer, at a postcode you deliver to, at a busy time. If you are missing, it is a setting, not a ranking problem:

  • Just Eat takes you offline if an order is not accepted within 5 minutes. Check the "Taking orders" switch.
  • Uber Eats pauses your store after missed or slow orders. Customers see "Currently unavailable".
  • Deliveroo may make your delivery area smaller when riders are short.

The full list of reasons is in why your restaurant is not showing.

Step 2: Did your position in the list drop?

You are showing, but customers have to scroll a long way to find you. Write down where you appear today, then check again at the same time next week. All three apps rank you on how well you perform, not only on food:

  • Just Eat looks at distance, repeat orders from new customers, order volume, successful orders and accuracy.
  • Deliveroo puts restaurants with good ratings higher.
  • Uber Eats looks at delivery speed and ratings.

More detail: how the delivery app algorithms work.

Step 3: Did your rating drop?

A lower rating moves you down the list, and fewer customers click. Each app counts differently: Just Eat uses the middle (median) rating from the last 12 months, Deliveroo uses your last 400 ratings, and Uber Eats gives most weight to the last 90 days. Read your newest bad reviews and look for one problem that repeats, like cold food or missing items. See how to improve your rating.

Step 4: Are your best dishes switched off?

This is very common. A dish marked "sold out" at lunch can stay off for days. Deliveroo names item availability as a ranking factor, and a customer who can't order the dish they came for leaves. Open your menu as a customer and look for greyed-out dishes, especially your best sellers.

Step 5: Did your prices, fees or offers change?

  • Did you raise prices, the delivery fee or the minimum order?
  • Did an offer end? Orders often fall the week an offer stops.
  • Are restaurants near you running offers you are not?

Customers compare the shops on the same screen, so look at your prices next to theirs.

Step 6: Did a new restaurant open near you?

New restaurants get a short boost. Just Eat gives up to 20 new businesses in an area a better position for a while, and Deliveroo boosts new restaurants for their first 30 days. A new shop can push you down for a few weeks. The answer is to be the better choice when the boost ends: good photos, full menu, quick and correct orders.

Step 7: Are your opening hours right everywhere?

Check that your hours match on every app and on Google. If Google says you open at 4pm but the apps open at 5:30pm, hungry customers go somewhere else. If you close on a day you used to open, regular customers may not come back.

Step 8: Is the tablet working?

Missed orders often start with the tablet: low battery, no Wi-Fi, or the sound turned down. Missed orders take you offline and count against you.

Still quiet? Ask partner support the right question

Don't just say "I have no orders". Ask: "My orders have dropped. Can you check if anything is affecting my visibility, ranking, delivery area or account?" Here is how to reach Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats.
