Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats marketing for restaurants

Updated 6 October 2026 · 6 minute read

Each delivery app sells its own marketing: ads to be seen, offers to get the order, and loyalty to bring customers back. Here is what each app offers, how you pay, and when it is worth the money.

Short answer: Deliveroo has adverts on its homepage, cuisine list and search, paid per menu click (from 25p), plus offers, both run from Marketer in Partner Hub. Just Eat has a sponsorship service that improves your position up to a limit, shown with a "sponsored" label, and StampCards for loyalty. Uber Eats has ads with a daily budget, seven types of offer, and Connections, which adds an offer to review replies and charges only when it's used. Fix your menu first, then test one offer or ad at a time.

Before you pay: fix what customers see

Ads bring people to your menu. Offers help them order. Neither works well if the menu is weak. Check these first, because they are free:

  • Your best dishes have real photos and are switched on.
  • The first section of the menu is your best sellers, not a long list of deals.
  • Your rating is healthy and you reply to reviews.

Deliveroo marketing

  • Adverts: shown on the Deliveroo homepage, cuisine list and search page, to customers most likely to order from you, for example people who order similar food.
  • Cost: you pay for each menu click, from 25p. You set a total budget or a weekly budget that renews on Mondays. An auto-bidding tool helps new advertisers choose a bid.
  • Offers: discounts that turn visits into orders. Deliveroo suggests running adverts and offers together.
  • Where: both are in Marketer in Partner Hub, where you can check each campaign. See our Deliveroo Hub guide.

Just Eat marketing

  • Sponsored positions: Just Eat says its sponsorship service improves your position in search, but the improvement is limited and linked to where you already rank. Paid positions show a "sponsored" label. So it works best for shops that already rank fairly well.
  • StampCards: Just Eat's loyalty scheme, which rewards customers for ordering again. Repeat orders also help your Just Eat ranking.
  • Where: in Just Eat Partner Hub. See our Partner Hub guide.

Uber Eats marketing

  • Ads: make your shop more visible on Uber Eats. In Uber Eats Manager, tap Ads, choose all customers or new customers, and set a daily budget.
  • Offers: buy one get one free (on up to 10 items), happy hour, percentage off, free item with purchase, spend more save more, money off chosen dishes, and free delivery.
  • Connections: automatic replies to reviews that can include an offer. You only pay when a customer uses the offer.
  • Where: in Uber Eats Manager. See our Uber Eats Manager guide.

Is it worth it? A simple test

  1. Run one offer or ad at a time, for 2 weeks.
  2. Write down orders and sales for the 2 weeks before and the 2 weeks during.
  3. Take off the cost of the offer or ad and the commission. Use our commission calculator.
  4. Keep it only if you made more money, not just more orders.

Good offers to test first: a deal on your best seller, or "spend more, save more" to raise the basket. Avoid money off everything all the time: customers learn to wait for it.

Marketing outside the apps

The apps charge commission on every order. Your own website, Google profile and leaflets bring orders with no commission. See takeaway marketing ideas and commission-free ordering.

Do you need a marketing agency?

Not always. Many shops get more from fixing their listing than from paying an agency each month. See who can help with your listings, or send us your listing for a free diagnostic first.

Check your listing before you pay for ads

Ads send customers to your listing. If the listing doesn't sell, you pay for visits that don't order. We'll check it first, free, within 24 to 48 hours. Get your free diagnostic →
