How to get more orders on Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats

Updated 25 September 2026 · 6 minute read

More orders come from three things: more customers seeing you, more of them trusting you, and more of them finishing the order. Here's a checklist for each, based on what the platforms themselves say.

Short answer: Get seen (ratings, reliability, repeat customers and speed are what the platforms rank on), look trustworthy (photos, descriptions and a good rating), and make ordering easy (best sellers first, fewer near-duplicates, clear deals).

1. Visibility: get seen

Each platform ranks on slightly different signals, but they overlap:

  • Ratings. Deliveroo ranks well-rated restaurants higher, and Uber Eats names higher ratings as a factor.
  • Repeat customers and accuracy. Just Eat ranks businesses that turn new customers into repeat customers, and counts successful orders and accuracy.
  • Speed. Uber Eats names faster delivery times and suggests lowering your prep time.
  • Availability. Deliveroo lists item availability as a ranking parameter.

See our platform guides for Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats.

2. Trust: make them believe you're good

  • Photos on your best sellers. Deliveroo's Hub scores Menu Completeness on how many items have photos and descriptions.
  • Descriptions that sell. Say what's in the dish, how big it is and why it's good.
  • A rating that holds up. Fix the most common complaint in your recent reviews first.

3. Conversion: make ordering easy

  • Best sellers first. Customers decide fast. Your first category should be the dishes you want to sell most.
  • Fewer, clearer choices. Remove near-duplicate items and very long categories.
  • Easy add-ons. Drinks, sides and meal deals should be obvious, not buried.
  • Food that travels. Uber Eats specifically suggests items that are suitable for delivery.

Where to start

If you only do three things this week: add photos to your top 10 items, move your best sellers to the top of the menu, and read your last 30 low ratings to find the pattern. Or send us your listing and we'll tell you exactly which fixes will matter most for you.

Increasing your Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats sales

More orders only help if each one still makes money after commission, so check your numbers with the commission calculator before you add offers. For sales from outside the apps, such as your own ordering page, leaflets and Google, see takeaway marketing ideas that work.
