How to rank higher on Deliveroo

Updated 25 September 2026 · 5 minute read

Deliveroo publishes the parameters it uses to rank restaurants, and it's clear that ratings play a big part. Here's what Deliveroo says, and how to act on it.

Short answer: Deliveroo says restaurants with good order ratings appear higher in the list. Your rating is the average of your last 400 ratings. New restaurants also get a boost for their first 30 days. So the biggest levers are your ratings, a complete menu, and using your first month well.

What Deliveroo says affects ranking

Deliveroo's published ranking parameters list its main factors as a customer's order history, the characteristics of the current order, and the characteristics of the restaurant. Secondary factors include cuisine trends, item availability, and financial considerations such as revenue and cost.

Its help centre adds two things restaurants can act on directly:

  • Ratings. "Restaurants with good order ratings appear higher up on the restaurant list."
  • New restaurants. Deliveroo boosts new restaurants for their first 30 days. After that they're ranked on the same criteria as everyone else.

1. Protect your rating

Your rating is the average of your last 400 ratings, and it only shows once you have 10 rated orders. That means a bad week can drag your score down for a long time. Read your recent low ratings, find the pattern (cold food, missing items, long waits) and fix that first. Our guide to improving your rating goes into this.

2. Complete your menu

Deliveroo's Hub now shows restaurants a Menu Completeness score, based on how many menu items have photos and descriptions. It sits alongside Menu Conversion and your best sellers. If Deliveroo is measuring it, it's worth getting right: start with photos and descriptions for your top 10 items.

3. Keep items available

Item availability is one of Deliveroo's stated ranking parameters. Marking popular items unavailable at busy times, or leaving discontinued items on the menu, works against you.

4. Use your first 30 days well

If you're new, the 30-day boost is your best chance to build ratings and repeat customers. Launch with a finished menu, good photos and your strongest dishes up front, rather than tidying it up later.

5. Make it easy to order

Menu Conversion is also measured. Put best sellers first, keep categories short, and make meal deals and add-ons obvious.

Where to make these changes

Most of this is done in Deliveroo's Partner Hub, where Menu Completeness, ratings and Menu Manager live. See our Deliveroo Hub guide and Deliveroo's photo rules.
