How Uber Eats ratings work, and how to reply to reviews

Updated 1 October 2026 · 3 minute read

On Uber Eats, your rating affects where you rank, whether you can earn the Top Eats badge and how customers judge you. Here's how it works, from Uber's own help pages, and what you can do about it.

Short answer: Uber Eats says your rating is an average of customer ratings with priority given to recent ones; its Ratings metric is weighted towards the past 90 days and only counts completed orders. You can reply to reviews in Uber Eats Manager within 7 days, and add a discount you fund yourself. Uber says customers who get a reply and a promotion are 23.2% more likely to return.

How your rating is calculated

  • Uber Eats says merchant ratings are an average of customer ratings, with priority given to the most recent.
  • Its Ratings metric is the average customer rating weighted for the past 90 days, using only ratings from completed orders.
  • Ratings is one of the metrics behind your Success Score in Uber Eats Manager.

Because recent ratings count most, a bad few weeks shows quickly, but so does a recovery.

Why it matters

  • Uber Eats says rankings favour faster delivery times and higher ratings.
  • The Top Eats badge needs a rating of 4.8 or more, along with order and accuracy thresholds. See the Top Eats criteria.

Replying to reviews

  1. Open the Feedback tab in Uber Eats Manager and go to Reviews.
  2. You're notified of new reviews and have 7 days to reply; a REPLY button shows the days left.
  3. You can thank the customer, apologise and invite them back, or not reply at all.
  4. You can add a self-funded discount code for their next order. Uber says it's fully funded by your store and expires after 30 days.

Uber says customers who receive a store reply and a promotion are 23.2% more likely to return than customers who got no response. Replying to poor reviews quickly is one of the few things that directly wins customers back.

Fix the cause, not just the review

Read your low ratings for the pattern: cold food, missing items, long waits. Uber Eats says lowering your default prep time and offering items that travel well can help your ranking, but only promise times you can hit. See how to improve your rating.
